FAQs

Image processing

After a shoot, the proof images will be made available for you to view online for selection. Your chosen image is not supplied straight from the camera (unless for an urgent press release), but is optimised for tone, colour, contrast and sharpness, before being tidied and converted to the file format of your choice. The final file will be optimised for print or web use (or both), depending on your requirements. This ensures the quality of the supplied images. Your final images can be made accessible by secure dowload, great for local and overseas businesses alike.

Copyright and Image Licensing

In accordance with the 1988 UK Copyright Act, Copyright remains with the Photographer for all photographs taken or supplied. A license will be issued specifying where the images can be used (eg. website, trade press, annual reports), in which regions and for what length of time. This is the basis for calculating photography rates. If you would like third parties to have use of the images too, prior agreement must be given by the photographer, and this will incur an additional fee. For further information on copyright and licensing, please visit www.copyright4clients.com.

Online galleries

An online gallery can be set up quickly after your event. This will allow guests to view all the images and purchase professional prints by credit card. Prints are available in colour and black & white. Vibrant metallic paper is offered in addition to lustre and gloss. The gallery will be password-protected, and generally stays online for 6 months. Please see the following section for details of additional print products. Please note we do not offer printing on site.

Print Products

In addition to individual prints, we also offer prints mounted in presentation folders (popular for award events), framed prints (including stylish box frames), acrylic prints and canvases. Large format prints mounted on foamboard, acrylic or canvas can be supplied for your offices.

Studio set up on location

For headshots and portraits, portable lighting will be taken to your offices, as well as a plain background if required. The equipment does not generally require much space, and can be set up quickly with minimum disruption. Battery powered and mains powered lighting is available.

Image storage

All images are stored on multiple drives, and saved at the very minimum for the duration of your license. Your chosen images are also stored online for extra security. Misplaced images can be re-supplied for a nominal fee.

Payment

Payment is due within 28 days of the invoice being issued (normally after the commission). Settlement by bank transfer is preferred, but payment is also accepted by cheque and credit card if requested (although an additional fee applies for cards).
